From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Cox Business Services Convention Center is a multipurpose convention and meeting center located in downtown Oklahoma City, USA. It is also known as the Cox Convention Center, the COX, and formerly the Myriad Convention Center.
The venue's name comes from a naming rights deal with local telecommunications giant COX Communications. It is located adjacent to the Renaissance and Sheraton Hotels bordering Robinson Avenue, Sheridan Avenue, Reno Avenue, and EK Gaylord Blvd in Downtown. Across the street is the new Ford Center as well as the new Courtyard by Marriott hotel.
The complex houses multiple meeting and convention rooms, dining halls, and a 15,000 seat multi-purpose arena. Its primary use is that of large scale convention and meetings. It is also the secondary home to the Oklahoma City Blazers and the Oklahoma City Yard Dawgs when the Ford Center's arena is not available as well as concerts and other large scale events.
It has also hosted several college basketball events, including the 2007 Big 12 Women's Basketball Tournament.
