Creole elites
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
[edit] Creoles
The creoles were inhabitants of the colonies established by Spain and Portugal. The creole elites were descendants of the European settlers in these colonies, and usually occupied the higher classes. They were often put in contention with the penninsulares, or colonists born in either Spain or Portugal.
