Crippled Avengers (alternate titles include Mortal Combat, Crippled Heroes, and Return of the Five Deadly Venoms) is a 1978 martial arts action film directed by Chang Cheh and produced by Shaw Brothers Studio. It stars the Five Deadly Venoms (Kuo Chui, Lu Feng, Lo Mang, Chiang Sheng, and Sun Chien) as a group of martial artists seeking revenge after being disabled by a cruel father and son, the elder being a martial arts master, and the younger having a pair of metal, projectile-shooting arms. The film is characterized by its long, uninterrupted action sequences, which feature very few film cuts, and its campy storyline and dialogue. The characters are examples of disabled fighters, which was a popular motif in many martial arts movies of the period.
