I'm a student at MIT (The Institvte). I edit somewhat randomly on all science related pages.
I should probably focus a bit more on Drugs and Molecular and Cellular Bio.

[edit] How I Draw Structures
1. I use ChemDraw with settings from User:Rune.welsh/Structures. Those settings are:
Chain angle: 120 degrees Bond spacing: 15 Fixed length: 2.566 cm Bold width: 0.3 cm Line width: 0.107 cm Margin width: 0.15 cm Hash spacing: 0.1 cm
2. I use ChemDraw to convert a structural formula to a drawing or I find a chemical on PubChem, download the associated SDF or XML file, and use OpenBabel to convert it to a .MOL file (and import it in ChemDraw).
3. I select and copy the drawing and paste it into Photoshop, adding a 75 pixel border to the image and then exporting it as a PNG. As for sizing, I leave the image at its original size.
4. Finally, I include this in the image upload:
==Summary== * Description: Chemical structure of ???. * Author, date of creation: selfmade by User:Crl620, May 14, 2006 * Source: user-created image * Copyright: Released to the Public Domain * Comments: Large PNG; ChemDraw / Photoshop. Details at User:Crl620 ==Licensing== PD-self
