[edit] Game's Origin
Crocodile Dentist was conceived by Robert Fuhrer[1], who also came up with the game Categorically Speaking. The game was published by Milton Bradley in 1990.
[edit] Game's Object
The goal of the game is to extract teeth using a specially-designed set of tongs from the gator's mouth without it snapping down on your hand. If this happens, you are eliminated from the game. The winner is the last remaining "dentist".
[edit] In Popular Culture
On an early 90s episode of The Price is Right, Crocodile Dentist (in its "travel" edition) was offered as a small prize during a playing of Pathfinder. Bob Barker and Former Barker's Beauty Janice Pennington. In this version, the players merely pushed down on the teeth, hoping to avoid choosing the wrong one. Host Barker selected the wrong tooth, causing the crocodile to snap down on his hand and inciting a loud "Aaah!". This clip has since been used in retrospective specials on the show.
