Crystal Bernard

Crystal Bernard (born September 30, 1961 in Garland, Texas) is an American actress and singer.
She began her career in entertainment singing gospel songs with her older sister Robyn Bernard. Songs included the anti-evolution Monkey Song ("I'm no kin to the monkey / the monkey's no kin to me / I don't know much about his ancestors but mine didn't swing from a tree") and The Ecumenical Movement ("We hear a lot of talk about the ecumenical movement / they say that we should get together and all be one big family / Catholic, Protestant and Jew/ Buddhist, Muslim and Hindu / I guess they want the devil too"). As an adult, she has continued to produce albums containing religious songs.
Ms. Bernard initially developed her acting and performing abilities with The Alley Theater while growing up in Houston, Texas. She continued her education at Baylor University where she studied acting and international relations. [1]
She got her start in primetime as K.C. Cunningham on the sitcom Happy Days and first shot to stardom as waitress Amy Tompkins on the sitcom It's a Living, but she is best known for her role as strong-willed airport lunch-counter operator Helen Chappel Hackett on the sitcom Wings, a role she played for the show's duration (1990-1997). In her movie career she is most known for playing Courtney Bates in Slumber Party Massacre 2.
She is known for her shag hairstyle, which she has kept through her many various roles throughout her career.
Bernard, at the height of her popularity on Wings, was the spokesperson for the gym chain Q: The Sports Club and was seen in advertisements across the United States.
In addition to acting, Bernard has a music career as a singer/songwriter. She is best known for singing a hit duet with Peter Cetera called "Forever Tonight".
Albums include The Girl Next Door (1996) and Don't Touch Me There (1999). The latter includes a gospel track she recorded with her father, and one sung with country artist Billy Dean.
Bernard has appeared several times on stage since the end of Wings. She played Annie Oakley in the Broadway revival of Annie Get Your Gun in 2001, a Los Angeles production of Crimes of the Heart in 1999 and she played Molly in Barbra's Wedding, staged at Burbank, California's Falcon Theatre in 2005.
She recently finished work on a religious, family film called Welcome to Paradise.
She lives in Beverly Hills, California.
