George Kelly Johnson

Born: October 16, 1986
Beaumont, Texas
Occupation: Undergrad
Website: GJ Comics

My name is George "G-man" Kelly Johnson, (sometimes "Pogo," "George Man," "G Wagon," "G Weezy," "GJ," "Porge," "Pudginess," or "#3".) I was born in the Baptist Hospital of Beaumont, Texas on Thursday, October 16, 1986. This makes me slightly younger than Keri Sable, a porno star, and Shia LaBeouf, an actor famous for his roles in the Disney TV show Even Stevens and the movies Holes and Constantine. But I am a month older than the American Idol Finalist Jasmine Trias. These people have earned fame, money, and the right to have a wiki article about themselves; I have no such things... Yet.

[edit] Background

I am a caucasian. My parents, Cecil Leonard Johnson Sr. (sometimes "Rusty," or "Cecil the one-eyed Diesel") and Susan Burroughs Johnson (sometimes "Susie," or "Susie Q,") were both born in Texas. (San Antonio, and Sugar Land, respectively.) Their ancestry is an obscured one, but it is most probable that they are of British, Scottish, and German descent. Other European countries have also been vaguely tied to the Johnson family background, but the actual genealogy has never been documented.

Though the aforementioned European places are commonly thought of as to be the Johnson family's so-called "homeland(s)," the cultures of those countries have nothing to do with the Johnson family that lives today. Dating back to at least my Great-Grandparents (who's children were men who fought in WWII,) there is proof that our family lived in Texas. Therefore, instead of European influence, our family is actually strongly cultured by the state of Texas. (In fact, the most recent family reunion was held at a ranch in Texas.

My grandparents were raised on farms in Texas. They lived during the Great Depression, which I can imagine, from reading stuff by author John Steinbeck, was a tough time. But the 2005 movie King Kong makes the Depression look kind of fun. Later, my parents would also be raised in rural settings.

My father was born over half a year before the Day of Infamy, so he isn't considered a Baby Boomer. My mother, however, was indeed a Baby Boomer (born in 1952). Both my mother and father have lived through important and sometimes tragic events that I always read about in History class and see in films like Forrest Gump and Platoon. My Parents have also seen the rise of the internet, which is something I live off of (with the exception of food, i.e. fine Mexican dining.)

Because my father lived in San Antonio, he has a deep-seeded affinity for fine Mexican dining. Quite often, during family outings, he will suggest fine Mexican dining. Casa Ole is a particularly hated restaurant. It is not a good place to get fine Mexican dining. You'd be better off with the tube-based beef from Taco Bell.

[edit] Siblings

I have Three (3) brothers. According to my sophomore High School biology teacher, Mrs. Clark, the probability whether a human offspring will be male or female is determined by a system of math in the DNA of the parents. Because both my parents were in family's of nearly all boys (just three (3) daughters total in both families, but a total of ten (10) sons.) and because all of my siblings are male, I predict that my offspring will most probably be male.

  • My Brothers
    • Robert "Bob" Alton Johnson (sometimes "Bobby," "Boqualoque," or "#1.")
      • Born September 2, 1978
    • Cecil "Bud" Leonard Johnson Jr. (sometimes "Buddy," "Buddy Bear," "#2," or "Benjamin.")
      • Born March 7, 1981
    • Zack Chase Johnson (sometimes "Zachary," "#4," "Smackary," "Zackarony Man from the Rio Grande," "Zackarony Big Boy," or "Z-Man.")
      • Born August 10, 1988

[edit] Schooling

[edit] Post-Secondary

Right now, I am an Undergraduate at the University of North Texas, studying for a degree in Communication Design.

The drive between my dorm (Denton, Texas) to my parent's house (Beaumont, Texas) is about 6 and a half hours, depending on whether Houston traffic is a hellacious mess, or just a mess.

UNT is located north of Dallas, up I-35 E. The school's colors are white and green, and people always walk around saying "GO MEAN GREEN!" after the famous football player, "Mean" Joe Greene. Other awesomely famous and totally cool people from UNT include: Dr. Phil Mgraw and Stone Cold Steve Austin. They make me so proud to be an Eagle. Yea. Definitely. I care.

During my first semester, I was a member of the Green Brigade Marching Band, playing the Tenor Saxophone. We performed at all the home games, doing impressive marching routines for up to thirty thousand (30,000) people at a time. Also, we participated with the NT dancers in the Mean Green March, which occurs two hours before the kickoff of each game. We didn't witness a single victory this year. But I hear last year was good.

There is a legendary Albino Squirrel that lives somewhere on campus. I have yet to see it. You can find lots of fake pictures of it on Facebook.

There is a ghost in one of the dorms, Bruce Hall. A friend of mine from drawing class says she has heard the ghost on occasion, banging on the ceiling. The ghost is said to be female, named Wanda, and to have died from blood-loss during a failed self-abortion with a coat hanger.

I first heard about this ghost, long before attending UNT, in a book i accidentally read in Barnes & Noble on Downlen Road in Beaumont, Texas, called "Texas Ghosts" or something like that.

I do not live in Bruce Hall, sadly. No, because of a lengthy string of circumstances, I live in the only dormitory located on the other side of the highway from actual campus.

[edit] Secondary

I attended Monsignor Kelly Catholic High School (MKCHS) in Beaumont, Texas from 2001 until my graduation in 2005. My graduating class consisted of approximately One-Hundred & Forty-Five (145) students, 100% of whom were accepted to college. The school has a very strict system of rules, often criticized by the attending students as being gay or just plain stupid. I myself, after revisiting the place a few times since graduation, do feel that the system of my old Parochial high school is completely gay.

[edit] Primary

I attended St. Anne School (a.k.a. St. Anne Catholic School, formerly St. Anne Triparish School) from 1992 until 8th grade graduation in 2001. I grew up with that school. Literally. Besides my family, Television, and later, the internet, St. Anne's was the only thing I knew. That place could be to blame for many of the weird behaviors I have, if you believe in psychology... If you are a scientologist, then you are just SOL.

[edit] Hobbies

While most of my time is spent focusing on school work (yea right,) I do occasionally have a bit of spare time to partake in activities that please me.

I am an avid PC Gamer, I make animations to publish on Newgrounds, I draw/write my own comic books, I play music on guitar, saxophone, piano (or keyboard,) violin, accordion, kazoo, and sometimes the harmonica, I enjoy taking photographs with my Canon PowerShot A95, I enjoy drinking Dr. Pepper (Dublin Dr Pepper of Dublin, Texas is near here, and I plan on visiting it some time), I watch lots of television and movies, I program HTML (to some people, that is actually impressive,) and, perhaps most fulfilling of all, I enjoy reading articiles on Wikipedia for hours on end.

When I was younger (i.e. in Primary School) I still had most of the above hobbies, but I also spent a great deal of my time building magnificent things with Legos. Those little plastic pieces are perhaps the cause of my highly developed imagination, and were also very influential in the comic books I created at that time. Since then I have used Legos less and less, and now, not at all. I wouldn't look very cool playing with them in my Dorm Room.

[edit] Notable Attributes

  • I am a Vegetarian.
  • I am 6'2". I am taller than anyone else in my family. Except maybe my father. Depends on what shoes we are wearing.
  • I have Hazel eyes
    • But I wear glasses.
    • I used to wear contacts, but decided that the independence of dorm life would make playing with my eyeballs too much of a hassle.
  • My best friend is Ryan Olson.
    • He got me into wiki, I think. I don't remember.
    • He convinced me to make a wiki user page... sort of. It was more of a insipiration than a conviction.
  • My girl friend is of Mexican and German ancestry, but she commonly calls herself a Mexican, and brags about her madre's fine Mexican cooking. I have eaten her madre's fine Mexican cooking, and it is pretty dern good.
