Curro Torres

Cristóbal Emilio Torres Ruiz (born December 27, 1976 in Ahlen, Germany) is a Spanish footballer who plays as a defender. He is commonly referred to as Curro Torres and currently plays for Valencia CF. He made his debut for Spain in 2001 and was a member of 2002 World Cup squad.
Curro Torres began his career with Gramenet UEA before joining Valencia CF in 1997. He was a regular with Valencia CF B for two seasons before he was loaned out to Recreativo de Huelva in 1999 and then CD Tenerife in 2000. Along with Mista and Luis García, he was a member of the CD Tenerife team coached by Rafael Benítez that won promotion from Segunda A to La Liga in 2001. He returned to Valencia CF where he became a regular again under Benítez and was a member of the successful team that won La Liga and the UEFA Cup.
