[edit] James Joyce's influence
From David Tibet's interview with Pitchfork Media on Spet. 11, 2006:
- David Tibet: Have you ever read Finnegans Wake?
- Pitchfork: Yes, though I've read it in parts-- I'll read 25 pages and then put it down and pick it up later and read 25 more....
- DT: That's what I did. I really love the idea of it, but I just think it's absolutely unreadable...just seems such a waste really. I like space. I like linear simple things with lots of spaces, so then I feel like I can breathe. I feel very claustrophobic when I'm surrounded by anything that is taking up all the space, maybe that's eating all the sky.
- I really admire James Joyce as a person, though to be honest, I've never found his work as interesting as I'd hoped it would be. Same with Ulysses. I just found it very difficult and boring….
Seeing as Tibet calls Finnegans Wake "absolutely unreadable" and "such a waste," and that he's "never found [Joyce's] work as interesting as [he'd] hoped," I've removed Joyce and Finnegans Wake from the list of literary influences. -- Rynne 21:18, 14 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Photo
Can someone please post a good photo rather than the one shown at the moment? It looks like someone tried to enlarge a small photo and it looks very rough/ugly as a result. --Demonslave 15:56, 16 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] New category - a question
I'm currently (heh) populating a new category - British experimental musicians. I'm including soloists obviously, and also bands with just one constant member, like NWW. My question is: should I include Current 93? It seems a bit borderline between band and soloist. Totnesmartin 14:43, 12 February 2007 (UTC)
