Dag Alexander Olsen (born September 9, 1989) is a footballer, currently playing for Tottenham Hotspur. He plays as a striker.
In 2006, Olsen broke into the SK Gjovik Lyn first team making his debut at the age of 16. He began with two subsitute appearances and went on to start a further 7 games scoring a total of 8 goals. During these nine games he caught the attention of the scouts of some of Europe's biggest football clubs.
Tottenham signed him ahead of Chelsea, Barcelona, Liverpool and Bayern Munich from Norwegian Second Division side SK Gjovik Lyn for a reported fee of £80,000. Olsen's manager Paul Hodgett confirmed to Norwegian media shortly after he signed that Barcelona made a last ditch attempt to snatch Olsen from under the nose of Tottenham.
Although he is unable to play for Spurs in a competitive fixture until 1 January 2007, Olsen has already moved to the club and trains with the rest of the Tottenham Academy players on a daily basis. Despite not being eligible to play for Spurs in a competitive fixture, he was able to make his debut for the Tottenham Under 18s in a friendly vs Bayer Leverkusen's Under 18 side on 22 November 2006.
