Damien Memorial High School (DHMS) is a private Catholic prep-school for young men grades 9-12 located in Kalihi, Oahu, a section of Honolulu, Hawaii. The school is sponsored by the Congregation of Christian Brothers and is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.
Damien Memorial High School was named in 1946 honoring Father Damien de Veuster, Apostle of Molokai[1]. Father Damien dedicated his life to serving the lepers of Molokai. Reverend James J. Sweeney, Bishop of Honolulu, decided that naming a school in Damien's memory would be a fitting tribute to this great man and would provide a strong Christian role model for young men to strive to follow. The founding principle was Brother Thomas B. Regan, (1910-1970).
