Dan Hamhuis (born December 13, 1982 in Smithers, British Columbia) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player.

Typically playing as a defenseman, Hamhuis was drafted as the 12th overall pick in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft by the Nashville Predators as a highly touted prospect. The Predators re-signed him on a one-year contract on August 16, 2005. Hamhuis was named in the Canadian squad for the 2006 World Championships in Riga, Latvia.
He has been given the nickname "Hammer" by Predators fans, due to his frequent use of hip checks that knock opposing players to the ground.
