Daniel P. Woodward is the Deputy Director for Force Manegement, J8 on the Joint Staff at the Pentagon. He assumed the position in January, 2006.
Brig. Gen. Daniel P. Woodward is Deputy Director, Force Management, Directorate for Force Structure, Resources and Assessment, Joint Staff. General Woodward is responsible for warfighting analysis, analytic support, capabilities-based assessments, and policy and guidance that involve every aspect of force management as it relates to the National Defense Strategy. The General has recently been selected for reassignment as Director, Regional Affairs, Office of the Deputy Under Secretary of the Air Force for International Affairs, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Washington, D.C.

General Woodward received his commission in 1980 as a distinguished graduate of the ROTC program at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida. He has served in a variety of operational and support positions throughout his career. The general has commanded a support group and a flying training wing. Prior to his current assignment, he was the Chief of the Forces Division on the Joint Staff.
