Daniels Middle School

Daniels Middle School, officially titled Josephus Daniels Middle School, is a middle school in Raleigh, North Carolina. It was founded in 1956. It was named after the former Secretary of the Navy Josephus Daniels. It's mission is to provide students with quality learning experiences in a safe environment enriched with a global focus. The school is part of the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme. Notable alumni include Philadelphia 76ers player and former Duke basketball player Shavlik Randolph, Broadway and Film actress Lauren Kennedy, Broadway Actress and Choreographer Denise Edwards Johnson, and the daughter of former North Carolina Senator John Edwards, Cate Edwards.
Daniels beat defending champions Martin in the 2006 boy's soccer conference championship. The team finished 7-0 and handed Martin its first loss in 3 years. It was the first championship for Daniels in over 10 years.
