Danny Katz, (01/03/1969 - 12/08/1983), is considered the first casualty of the intifada, the Palestinian uprising. On December 8, 1983, at the age of 14, Danny Katz was kidnapped in Haifa, Israel. His badly beaten corpse was found a few days later in Carmel. In 1991, the five Arab men who confessed to the crime, were sentenced to life imprisonment for abducting, murdering, and sexually assaulting 14-year-old Danny Katz. According to the original indictment against the five, they met a few days before the murder and decided to kidnap and kill a Jewish child. They received a retrial in 1999.
