Darryl Sydor (born 13 May 1972 in Edmonton, Alberta) is a Canadian (now American citizen) ice hockey defenceman who currently plays for the Dallas Stars of the NHL.

Darryl Sydor was selected 7th overall by the Los Angeles Kings in the 1990 NHL Entry Draft. He would play four stellar seasons with the Kamloops Blazers of the WHL before joining Los Angeles during the 1991-92 NHL season. Sydor developed with the Kings, but he would not climb to his prime until he was traded to the Dallas Stars in 1996.

He became part of Dallas' big four defenseman, which involved Sydor, Derian Hatcher, Sergei Zubov and Richard Matvichuk. This quartet was a major factor why the Dallas Stars captured a Stanley Cup in 1999. Sydor would enjoy playing in Dallas for 7 1/2 seasons, before being traded to the Columbus Blue Jackets in the summer of 2003. He would only play 49 games with Columbus, before being traded to Lightning midway through the season. It worked well for Sydor, as the Lightning captured the Cup that year, giving Sydor his second career Stanley Cup.

Sydor was traded back to the Dallas Stars on July 2, 2006 for a 2008 4th round draft pick in a salary-dumping move by Tampa Bay.

At the end of 2006, Sydor was naturalized with his wife as US citizens at a Dallas elementary school.

Sydor has won many championships over his career, including his two Stanley Cups, a Memorial Cup with Kamloops, and a gold medal at the World Junior Championship.
