[edit] Notability
This artist has become a recognised out musician with articles in international magazines Genre Magazine and Instinct Magazine. He was nominated for a 2006 Outmusic Award. He also won a"best Production" award from the TMA for his co-production of "Arabian Nights" that played at the New Victory Theatre on Broadway and tour internationally.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Sharkmeatrecords (talk • contribs) 02:17, 14 August 2006.
- The outmusic awards don't appear terribly notable, and the criteria requires that he win a notable one, not be nominated for a fringe award. You'll have to define TMA more, there are a lot of things that TMA stands for, You'll also have to reference his international tour as that appears to be the only thing that could remotely pass him on notability.--Crossmr 02:21, 14 August 2006 (UTC)
- If this [1] is the extent of his "tour", then 1 show in germany and a couple shows in the US is hardly a tour. It appears he performed in an up and coming show, when he gets there, he'll meet notability.--Crossmr 02:23, 14 August 2006 (UTC)
TMA is the Theatrical Management Association in the UK - It's awards are equivalent to the TONY's in the USA. DARREN has been in heavy rotation in Sirius Radio 106 reaching the #2 position with the first single "The Limit" - which has also been played on many radio stations across the US and around the world - verification for this can be found on sources such as mediaguide & Nielson BDS. Articles in the international magazines Genre & Instinct can be found on the artist's website [[2]]--Sharkmeatrecords
- please stop abusing the hangon template. Its not to be left there indefinitely. Its to be placed once while you write your reason and then removed. When an admin looks at the page they will read your reasoning and make a decision. In regards to these items WP:BAND Genre and Instinct look like they will suffice. Make sure they are properly referenced in the article so that no one else will question the notability. I'll remove the speedy delete tag.--Crossmr 02:36, 14 August 2006 (UTC)
Sorry - didn't realise the hanon template had to be removed. Thanks we will reference the articles.--Sharkmeatrecords
- No problems we all need to learn. Making sure to view page histories and read edit summaries can sometimes give you insight as to why an editor may have made a particular edit. Genre_magazine has an artilce here at wikipedia so you can both externally link to the article and internally link to that article when making the reference. Insight does not appear to.--Crossmr 02:45, 14 August 2006 (UTC)
- make sure those magazine references are actually readiable in the article. Not just for other editors, but people who read the article need to be able to verify it.--Crossmr 03:03, 14 August 2006 (UTC)
I'm not quite sure how we do that and I can't find a help page???Sharkmeatrecords
- Well you're talking about Darren, so part of writing about him should read "Darren was featured in xxx magazine on xxx date" and include a link to the article.--Crossmr 04:00, 14 August 2006 (UTC)
