"Dashboard" is a song by American indie rock band Modest Mouse and is the second track on their 2007 album We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank. The song was released as the first single from that album and is currently charting at number five on Billboard's Modern Rock Tracks chart. It debuted at number 59 in the Billboard Hot 100 in early February 2007.[1]
Members of Modest Mouse's e-mail list were sent a link of the finished track on January 3, 2007 and the song was released to American radio stations on January 16.[2]

A music video for the track was premiered on MTV at 6:00 a.m Monday, February 26 and repeated every hour on MTV2 and MTVU [3].
It is available for viewing from both MTV2 [4] and MTVU [5] websites.
The video was produced by Motion Theory (Matisyahu, Beck, Velvet Revolver) as "a drunken shouting match between sailors that expands on the nautical mythology." [6]
A behind the scenes video clip was posted on the band's Myspace page [7] and YouTube. An image was also posted on the Pitchfork Media webpage [8].
The music video is now available for download in 480p resolution on the Xbox Live Marketplace.
