DataTreasury, located in Plano, Texas USA, develops and licenses technology for secure cheque image capture and storage. Their technology is protected in part by U.S. Patent 5910988 and U.S. Patent 6032137 . Similar patents are pending on other countries as well.
In both 2003 and 2005, DataTreasury sued a number of banks and other companies for infringing its patents. [1] DataTreasury has been characterized as a patent troll for this action. [2]
