Daultipur-Salturia Tornado

The Daultipur - Salturia, Bangladesh Tornado was an extremely destructive tornado that occurred in the Manikganj District, Bangladesh on 26 April 1989. The deadliest in world history that killed approximately 1,300 people. Likewise, this violent storm injured over 12,000 and left over 80,000 people homeless.
The tornado had a path 16 kilometres (10 mi) long and 1.6 kilometres (1 mi) wide; it reportedly destroyed all structures in an area of 6 square kilometres (2.3 sq mi), was almost surely violent, and might have been an F5 on the now obsolete Fujita Scale. The storm struck in the evening hours at around 1830 hours local time.
