Dave Cox

Dave Cox (born February 20, 1938 in Holdenville, Oklahoma) is the California State Senator representing the 1st district. He is Vice-Chair of the Senate Banking, Finance and Insurance and the Senate Local Government Committees. Prior to being on the State Senate, he served on the California State Assembly representing the 5th district from 1998 to 2004. And before this, he served on the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors. Cox made an unsuccessful run for the 6th Senate district in 1994 against veteran State Senator Leroy Greene.

Mr. Cox was born in Holdenville, Oklahoma. Mr. Cox received degrees from University of San Diego and Golden Gate University. Mr. Cox is married and has 3 children.
