David Alpay (born October, 1980 in Toronto, Ontario) is a Canadian actor.
Alpay had planned to become a doctor when he was studying at Earl Haig Secondary School in North York, Ontario. One of his greatest scholastic accomplishments was winning the University of Maryland, Baltimore's Brain Bee in grade 12, truly indicative of his scientific knowledge. Alpay was also a member of the school's winning dragon boat race team and at one time the principle violinist for the Canadian Dance Tapestry.
Years later Alpay would receive critical acclaim for his leading role in Atom Egoyan's Ararat, for which he received a Genie Awards nomination. Although the film was a success, and many hoped to see more of Alpay, he in fact returned to his education, declaring his plan to leave the business for a while.[1]. Prior to his first film role, he was studying at the University of Toronto, and he returned there to pursue his Masters in the History of Medicine.
