David Arroyo

David Arroyo Durán (born 7 January 1980)is a Spanish professional road bicycle racer, riding on the UCI ProTeam Caisse d'Epargne. He is considered one of the best climbers on the team along with team leader Alejandro Valverde and Óscar Pereiro. After Valverde crashed during one of the flat stages on the first week of the 2006 Tour de France, Arroyo was considered the leader of his team. This was until Pereiro claimed the leader's yellow jersey after being given a half-hour advantage by Floyd Landis' Phonak team. Arroyo's job after this was to help Pereiro in the high mountain climbs. He is generally un-noticed by commentators and observers, but he is one of the most consistent riders in the Professional peloton, as he is a fine climber.^{[citation needed]}
