David E. Orton

David E. Orton is currently the CEO of ATI Technologies. He joined ATI as a result of an acquisition of ArtX, a high-tech SME, in April 2000, where he was President and CEO. Prior to ArtX he worked at SGI where he spent almost 10 years as Senior Vice President of the Visual Computing Department. He also worked in the graphics and semiconductor industry as an engineer at General Electric and Bell Laboratories. After the announced merger of AMD with ATI Technologies on July 24, 2006, it is stated that he will become an executive vice-president of AMD, reporting to AMD CEO Hector Ruiz and COO Dirk Meyer.
