David LaFleur

David LaFleur was a Dallas Cowboys tight end who played from 1997 - 2000. He was born on January 29, 1974 in Lake Charles, Louisiana. He was very large, measuring 6'-7" and weighing 280 pounds. He was the first pick by the Dallas Cowboys in the 1997 NFL Draft, the twenty-second overall pick. He was chosen from Louisiana State. In 1996, he was chosen as a first team All-American tight end. For the Cowboys in 1997 he had 18 receptions for 122 yards, making an average of 6.8 yards per catch. He scored two touchdowns. In 1998, he had twenty receptions for 176 yards and two touchdowns and an average of 8.8 yards per catch. In 1999 he had 35 receptions for 322 yards (an average of 9.2 yards per catch) and seven touchdowns. Also in 1999, he led NFC tight ends with his seven touchdowns. In 2000, he had 12 receptions for 109 yards, an average of 9.1 yards per catch, and scored only one touchdown.
