From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
David Peterson was a professional wrestler who sometimes went by the name of D.J. Peterson.
[edit] Career
David W. Peterson started wrestling in 1984 in Texas All-Star Wrestling and in the NWA's Central States territory. He also worked for World Class Championship Wrestling and the Universal Wrestling Federation before arriving in the American Wrestling Association in 1987.
In 1988 and 1989 he would split time in several terrotories and then return to the AWA in early 1990 to pursue then AWA World Champion Mr. Saito. When Larry Zbyszko regained the title, Peterson was granted title shots. Shortly thereafter, he formed a tag team with The Trooper which captured the AWA World Tag Team Titles from The Destruction Crew. Peterson and Trooper would turn out to be the last AWA World Tag Team Champions.
After the AWA closed in early 1991, Peterson went back to the independents until he died from a motorcycle crash on May 25, 1993.
