Daybreak (painting)

Daybreak was the title of a Maxfield Parrish work of art painted in 1922. Daybreak has been referred to as the most popular art print of the 20th century based on number of prints made.
The painting was laid out using photographs of Kitty Owen, Parrish's daughter Jean, and Susan Lewin were used as models.
The print was displayed in one of every four American homes. It is said to be one of the most reproduced art images in history,
Parrish referred to Daybreak as The Great Painting.
Daybreak was purchased by a private collector for 7.6 million (US) on May 25th, 2006 on auction at Christie’s.

- In 1995 Michael Jackson produced a music video, You Are Not Alone, featuring himself and his then wife, Lisa Marie Presley, in which they appear semi-nude in emulation Daybreak.
- The Bloom County comic book Penguin Dreams and Stranger Things features a cover with many elements of Daybreak.
- The Dali's Car album cover "The Waking Hour" uses a detail from Daybreak.
