This template is intended to tag attack pages for deleteion under WP:CSD A6.

This template is currently implemented by Transclusion. I think the use of transclusion should be retained. Please look at Template talk:Db-reason#Transclusion, where the issue of using transclusion in the speedy deletion templates is discussed, before editing to change this. If you are contemplating editing this template, especially with regards to categorization or parameters, please read the discussion at Template talk:Db-reason.
{{db-reason}} is the meta-template from which all these templates derive, and is also used for CSD in its own right. Some of the other CSD templates are also used both as meta-templates, and as templates in their own right. Because of this, the relationship between these templates, their parameters, and the issue of categorization (so that candiate articles get categorized, but the templates temselves don't) is more complex that it appears at first glance. [edit] Request the page be blanked
I suggest that the template message recommend the user also blank the prior contents of the page immediately. This will help prevent Google cache or mirrors from picking up the attack content, while awaiting an admins attention. For living persons, its already policy to remove unsourced negative claims immediately, so this would make sense. --Rob 18:44, 22 May 2006 (UTC)
- I'm not sure this is a good idea. Attack pages are typically deleted quickly enough, and not seeing the attack on the page just slows down the deleting admin (couple more clicks in the history). I think the chances for the page getting cached between tagging and deletion aren't all that high. If you have any hard data that invalidates my comments, please post it. [edit] adding a link to attack-warn
Diez2 (talk • contribs) suggest adding a link to the template:attack-warn that he just created. I think it makes sense to have this extra line in as most db-tags now have something of the sort. But before adding this in, I would prefer we take some time to agree about that new warning template. Pascal.Tesson 03:27, 27 October 2006 (UTC)
I was just looking for something like that. The other day I warned a user who had written an attack page against a group of people, and didn't remember that template:attack is only about attacks on people (and was promptly called a fascist on my talk page - the perpetrator was blocked by a passing admin before I had time to formulate a response). That particular nutjob aside, a link to template:attack-warn in db-attack would be a good idea for future reference.--Bonadea 19:39, 7 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Nonsense Category
Including db-attack in the Nonsense category for deletion makes no sense. There doesn't appear to be a consensus for adding this so I'm removing it until it's otherwise decided to add it back. Hatch68 21:21, 28 March 2007 (UTC)
