A Dead walk, also known as a Zombie walk, is a type of walk resembling that of a zombie. In some zombie themed movies and games, characters will use this to get from one point to another without alerting the attention of any nearby zombie.
Some say that zombies can tell a human from a zombie by a hidden trait that only comes out after reanimation. Others will argue that a zombie knows humans by sight and would not be able to tell a human from another zombie if said human was doing a Dead walk.
The movie Shaun of the Dead featured the main characters doing a Dead walk to get to across the street to a pub. It worked well until the main character Shaun started yelling at his friend Ed for answering his cell phone.
In the game Dead Rising for the Xbox 360, the Dead walk can be learned at a certain level. It is debatable on if a Dead walk would work against a zombie in real life.
