Declan Fanning (born 1980) is an Irish sportsperson. He plays hurling with his local club Killenaule and with the Tipperary senior inter-county team. He plays in the right corner-back position.

Declan Fanning was born in Killenaule in Thurles, County Tipperary in 1980. He was educated locally and later showed great interest in both hurling and football.

[edit] Inter-county
Fanning joined the Tipperary minor hurling team in the late 1990s, winning a Munster minor title in 1997. He later joined the Tipperary under-21 side, however, he had little success at this level. In 2003 Fanning was a dual player with his native county. That year he lined out with the footballers in their game against Donegal and he made his competitive hurling debut as a substitute in a National Hurling League game against Wexford in 2004. He made his championship debut against Limerick later that same year. In spite of playing in two Munster finals in 2005 and 2006 Fanning has yet to have any major success at senior level.
