Dell monitors
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Dell sells LCD-based and CRT-based computer monitors. Dell bundles monitors with its lower-end desktop computers and with higher-end computers as package deals, as well as selling them separately through their online store. They also sell televisions, which can function as monitors, and monitors from other manufactures, such as NEC and Viewsonic.

[edit] LCD monitors
Many of the Dell monitors have been reviewed by hardware reviewers in their own right without a being bundled with a PC. When the 2405FPW 24" screen was launched it received a lot of press attention for being much cheaper than comparable models from Apple and Samsung.[1][2]

[edit] Service menu
Using the Service Menu incorrectly could leave your monitor in a nonfunctional state and will not be covered by the Dell warranty. Dell provides consumer access to a hidden service menu providing more advanced information and settings, such as the full model number, monitor chip-set, total time used and advanced color options. This menu can be accessed as follows:
- Powering off your screen
- Holding down MENU and + buttons while powering it on
- Release those buttons and enter the MENU
- Select FACTORY RESET
- Scroll down to FACTORY
For 2n07 models, you do not need to enter the menu once it is powered on, simply press the - button.
There is a fair amount of chance involved in receiving a Dell TFT since many of the models can feature a number of different panels, depending on stock availability and build cost. For example, the recent 2007FP and 2007WFP can feature either an LG.Philips S-IPS panel, or a Samsung S-PVA panel. More information here
