Denys Val Baker (October 24th, 1917 – July 6th, 1984) was an Cornish writer.

Denys Val Baker was born on October 24th, 1917 in Yorkshire to Welsh parents. After leaving boarding school in Sussex, Baker began working as a journalist, first with the Derby Evening Telegraph and later with Advertiser’s Weekly. Baker's first collection of short stories, Selected Stories was published in 1944. His first novel, The White Rock was published in 1945.
