Someone with better German than I should explain the special status of Bremen (state), Saar (protectorate), and West Berlin, the first of which is generally not well-known. In the meantime, those curious enough can follow the linked I've included. Calbaer 23:56, 8 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Inaccurate map

The map isn't accurate and doesn't precisly show the status quo in 1946. The territory arround Stettin belonged to the russian Besatzungszone and later to the DDR. It was annexed by Polend as late as 1950. Byzanz
