Dewey Graves

Reverend Dewey W. Graves (1909-1995)
Reverend Graves was born in Ripley, Mississippi on October 5th, 1909. As a young man, he moved to Missouri and was admitted to William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri. There he met Ruby Russell whom he married in 1937.
After graduating from William Jewell with a degree in religious studies, he started Nashua Baptist Church in Nashua, Missouri. Reverend Graves would go on to become Chaplain of Missouri Baptist Hospital and leader of Fourth Baptist Church in St. Louis, Missouri.
In 1949 the Graves adopted a baby they named Sally Ann.
