Dexter's Assistant

Dexter's Assistant is episode 2c from Season 1 of Cartoon Network's animated series, Dexter's Laboratory. It first aired on Sunday, May 5, 1996.

The episode starts with Dexter looking at his many science fair trophies. He then sees an empty space and remembers that it is for this year's trophy. Dexter tests the machine he will enter om the fair, but the "Spectro Button" which needs to be pressed is too far away to start up. Dee Dee comes in (because she lost her marbles), and while she is ranting on, dexter realizes he needs an assistant. He asks Dee Dee to press the button, but she keeps missing. Dexter makes himself an assistant by inserting a brain into Dee Dee's head. Dee Dee becomes smart. At last Dexter has someone to press the button, but after Dee Dee presses the button on the machine it explodes. Dee Dee tells dexter his caculations were wrong, and that she will help him. Dexter soon becomes irritated with the new smart Dee Dee, because she is always right. After his hair burns, and grows new hair with Dee Dee's formula. Dexter yells at Dee Dee, then Dee Dee leaves him with a small bear doll. At the science fair Dee Dee wins with her "Merry Go-Motion" machine. The episode ends with Dexter yelling that it is all the bear's fault.

- When Dee Dee is smarter, she gets some sort of an accent.
- Dee Dee does not go back to her original self at the end of the episode.
- Dexter was wearing rubber gloves when he was building up static electricity, so why wasn't it blocked?
- The episode never explains what Dexter's machine does.
