Senator Richard "Dick" L. Saslaw is a Democratic Party politician from the Commonwealth of Virginia in the United States. He has been a State Senator since 1980 and is the Minority (Democratic) Leader in his chamber of the General Assembly. Prior to becoming a senator, he served in the Virginia House of Delegates from 1976-1980. He was born on February 5, 1940 in Washington, DC according to his official website (see references). He has a BS in Economics from the University of Maryland.
