Dimitris Saravakos

Dimitris Saravakos (born 26 July 1961) is one of the best Greek football players ever. He started his career in Panionios FC and later he moved on to Panathinaikos FC, where Saravakos gained fame and matured as a footballer, becoming one of the best attacking left halfs in the history of Greek fooball.After a rejection of a renewal contract offer by Panathinaikos, Saravakos moved to AEK Athens FC in 1994. He concluded his career in Panathinaikos in the middle 90's .
He was a charismatic player who had the ability to play in the bigger clubs of Europe. In early 90s Juventus wanted him, but G. Vardinogianni's Panathinaikos rejected the transfer. So, he had lost his opportunity. Saravakos won several championships and cups in Greece with Panathinaikos and AEK Athens FC. He also played in the 1994 FIFA World Cup with the Greek national team.
