Dina Matos McGreevey

Dina Matos McGreevey, born 1966 in Cantanhede, Portugal, is the former First Lady of New Jersey.
Dina is a former manager of Public and Professional Relations at Saint James Hospital, Executive Director of the Columbus Hospital Foundation in Newark, New Jersey.
She met Jim McGreevey in 1996, when he was setting up interviews with a Portuguese language newspaper and TV program. Although they began dating, they kept their relationship quiet during his 1997 campaign for governor.
They married October 7, 2000. Together they have a daughter, Jacqueline Matos McGreevey, born December 7, 2001 (a premature birth) after her mother, Dina, had been hospitalized for six weeks.
She served as first lady during the administration of her husband, former Gov. James McGreevey. She was standing beside McGreevey during his August 2004 press conference, where he announed he was gay and was resigning from office.
She and her husband decided to separate and in October, 2004, Dina Matos McGreevey purchased a three-bedroom, red brick ranch home in Springfield, New Jersey. She and James have filed for divorce.
Dina has not made a public comment since the resignation and in January 2007 announced she was writing a book, "Silent Partner", to end media speculation on her life.
