Diorama is the fourth album by the Australian band Silverchair, released in 2002. Although Silverchair were known as a post-grunge band, by this time in their career, their music had progressed to such an extent that it became largely unrecognizable as work of the same adolescent rock-group that burst onto the international music scene in 1995.
The sound of Diorama has been described as more refined than Silverchair's earlier work. It is probably more accurate, however, to view Diorama as a natural continuation of the changes to their sound that began in 1999's Neon Ballroom. In any case, many of the songs can be described as progressive rock, including power ballads (e.g. "World Upon Your Shoulders"). Several songs on the album were arranged by renowned Beach Boys collaborator, Van Dyke Parks.
