Arms of the Church of England Diocese of Birmingham, granted 8th October 1906.
The "indented" division of the shield is taken from the arms of the City of Birmingham, the discs from the arms of the Diocese of Worcester and the patee crosses from those of the Diocese of Lichfield. The area that became Birmingham Diocese was part of Lichfield Diocese until 1837, and then Worcester until 1906.
