Yami Yugi (Dark Yugi a.k.a. Yu-Gi-Oh!) wanders aimlessly through an unknown forest when he hears a growling behind him. He warns that he is not alone, when suddenly a tentacle comes out of nowhere. He narrowly avoids it, realising that the tree is alive. Suddenly, his capsule launcher activates, and now he realises what they're for. Rushing to stuff the capsule into the launcher, he shouts, "Fire Capsule!", and Celtic Guardian appears as he expected. He commands him to attack.
Meanwhile, Joey Wheeler (Katsuya Jonouchi in the English-language manga and the Japanese versions) is begging the bird not to drop him, seeing as they're over a giant casm. But the bird drops him, and he falls right into the bird's nest, surrounded by its young. He attempts to make peace, but when the bird bites his hand, he quickly takes his chances and jumps out of the nest. He lands in another nest below, and then another, but cought up in the routine he doesn't realise that there is not another nest under that. Desperately trying to stop himself falling, he slams into a trunk, where a Capsule rolls down into his arms.
Down on the beach, Tristan Taylor (Hiroto Honda) and Téa Gardner (Anzu Mazaki) work out that the monsters in front of them came from the capsules, and they each remember touching one when they were running. Tristan says that although the monsters may look a bit freaky, they're probably harmless. Suddenly a giant sea monster (Root Water) arises behind them, and they conclude that this one isn't on their side. Happy Lover and Thunder Kid try to protect them, but Téa doesn't see how they're strong enough.
Joey doesn't know where Baby Dragon came from, but he saved his life. But, the birds are still on their trail, and Joey decides to run, not having a clue where they all came from.
Somewhere below, Celtic Guardian is fighting the tree monster, but for some reason they seem evenly matched. Pharaoh figures out that the tree must get some kind of field power bonus from the forest field, a principal that the Capsule Monsters board game is built on. Celtic Guardian starts to lose the fight, and Pharaoh feels the pain too.
Back above, Joey and Baby Dragon duck into a hole to avoid the birds, and so begins a chase through the tunnels of the cliff. The birds number starts to fall, but there are still a lot of them. Joey thinks that he can use this to his advantage, and sneaks through a narrow hole that is blocked by so many birds trying to get through at once!
Pharaoh is desperately trying to figure out what to do, just as every other tree around him transforms into monsters too! Now they're surrounded, and Celtic Guardian can't fend them all off. The many tentacles of the tree tie them both up like rope, when Yugi points out another Capsule on the ground. Pharaoh can't reach it, so he commands Celtic Guardian to throw the sword in order to break Pharaoh free. He does so, and Pharaoh opens the second capsule, causing Hinotama soul to appear. He knows that when a fire monster attacks an earth monster, the fire monster gets a bonus. Pretty soon, every tree has burnt down into ash. Yugi wonders how his friends are doing, and he hopes that they've figured out that this isn't India!
Meanwhile, Joey is attempting to find his way around using a guide to India, an attempt which doesn't go very well. He manages to take refuge in a cave behind a waterfall, when he finds a treasure chest! After a little gloating with Baby Dragon about how he's going to be richer than Kaiba, he finally opens the chest. To his surprise, it contains a ribbon which wraps him up like a mummy, but Baby Dragon breathes fire to get him free. Then, a map appears out of nowhere as some sort of prize, and he comes to the conclusion that although it's not treasure, it may be a treasure map.
Tristan keeps commanding Thunder Kid to attack the sea monster, but nothing seems to be working. The monster keeps counterattacking and Thunder Kid gets hurt. Tristan, after a stabbing pain through the stomach, figures out that they must feel whatever their monsters feel. Téa thinks that she may be able to help, and remembers something that Yugi told her when they were playing Capsule Monsters. Happy Lover has a special ability that can increase the attack of a monster that's been injured. Téa uses that effect on Thunder Kid, which also makes Tristan happy and confident as well as Thunder Kid. Actually, a little overconfident, but he does actually start thinking, and has the idea that if he was to throw Thunder Kid into the air, he could launch an attack whilst the Sea Monster is blinded by the sun. It seems to work, but then an even bigger monster appears in its chared place, which they can definitely not defend against. Suddenly, a voice from nowhere commands Summoned Skull to attack, destroying the monster instantly. Suddenly, a shadow walks out from the light.
