Division of Hughes
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Division of Hughes is an Australian Electoral Division in New South Wales. The division was created in 1955 and is named for Billy Hughes, who was Prime Minister of Australia 1915-23. It is located in the southern suburbs of Sydney, including Como, Engadine, Helensburgh and Sutherland. Until 1996 it was generally a safe seat for the Australian Labor Party, but since then it has seemed increasingly secure for the Liberal Party.
