Division of Perth

The Division of Perth is an Australian Electoral Division in the state of Western Australia. It is named after Perth, the capital city of Western Australia, where the Division is located. It includes several suburbs in north and eastern Perth, such as Maylands, Ashfield, Bedford, Beechboro and the central business district of Perth itself. It is a primarily residential area.
The Division was proclaimed in 1900, and was one of the original 75 divisions to be contested at the first Federal election. The seat is currently a safe Labor seat.
