Dolphin is a new File Manager for KDE 4. When KDE 4 is released, Dolphin will be configured as the default file manager and Konqueror will be the default browser, but it will still keep its file manager capabilities. Dolphin for KDE 4 has been adapted in a way that Konqueror and Dolphin share as much code as possible[1].
