Talk:Dollard-des-Ormeaux, Quebec
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Strictly speaking, and according to the Commission de Toponymie, this name should be spelt Dollard-Des Ormeaux, since "Dollard des Ormeaux" is a person's name, and capitals but not hyphens are used with nobiliary particles (i.e. it's not the same case as, say, Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue or Rivière-du-Loup.) However, one rarely sees the Dollard-Des Ormeaux formulation -- yet -- and Dollard-des-Ormeaux is still most common for the time being. - Montréalais
67% of the population of Dollard-Des Ormeaux uses English or other languages at home, while only 21% uses French. The town has a substantial and rapidly-growing Jewish community. That's 88. The rest is mute? Peter Horn 05:09, 23 September 2006 (UTC)
