From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Doug's Math Problem and Doug's Big Feat comprise the first episode in the fourth season of Nickelodeon's animated television series Doug.
[edit] Doug's Math Problem
Because of a hard division problem having to do with two trains of different speed and direction about to collide, Doug flunks a math test, and he receives a letter in the mail from school. Because it's from school, Doug automatically assumes that it's from his teacher, telling Mr. and Mrs. Funnie that he's doing bad in math. Doug wants to open the letter, but he is afraid of breaking into his parent's mail. So he tries everything to open the envelope without tearing it, but he just ends up making a mess of things. Meanwhile, Patti keeps trying to call Doug, but before she can give him her message, he is forced to hang up the phone. Doug's mom comes home and takes the mail into her bedroom and takes a nap. He sneaks into her room and takes the letter, but Mr. Funnie sees it and he has a feeling Doug is having trouble in school. Patti finally comes over and says the reason she was calling, was because Mrs. Wingo wanted her to tutor Doug in math.
[edit] Doug's Big Feat
While at football practice, Doug is practicing kicking, and he kicks the ball so hard, that it flies over the goalpost (along with his sneaker.) Since he didn't see the shoe, Coach Spitz automatically assumes that Doug is one of the best kickers on the team, and he wants him to kick a fieldgoal in the next big game against Bloatsburg. But Doug is a wreck, since he didn't really mean to kick it that hard, and to make matters worse, Percy Femur is on the opposing team. In the game, Bloatsburg clobbers them, and when Doug kicks the ball again, his shoe flies off again, and he is kicked out of the game. But after awhile, many of the players are injured, and they're a man short in the game, so Doug decides to step in and help their team score, which they do.
