Doug Martin (born May 22, 1957 in Fairfield, California), is a former American professional football player who was selected by the Minnesota Vikings in the 1st round (9th overall) of the 1980 NFL Draft. A 6'3", 258 lbs. defensive end from the University of Washington, Martin played in 10 NFL seasons from 1980-1989 for the Vikings. He is currently the head football coach at Kent State University.
In 2004, Martin succeeded Dean Pees as head coach of the Kent State Golden Flashes football team. In his three seasons in Kent, Martin has an overall record of 12-18, which includes a 6-6 overall mark and 5-3 in Mid-American Conference play for 2006.
