Dov Simens

Dov Simens is the founder of a film school, which is contributed by the Hollywood Film Institute. This course has been taken by many famous performers and directors such as Spike Lee, (Malcom X) Will Smith, (Men in Black) Robert Rodriguez, (Sin City) Emo Phillips, (Meet the Parents) and much more.

Graduated from the Muhlenberg College at Allentown, PA, Simens spent three years in the army and went to Vietnam. After that, he started to own a successful book store. In 1980, he sold the store and used the cash to pursue his dream. First, he went to Hollywood to call agents, meet studio heads, chase deals, and pitch development execs. He wrote many books on filmmaking and wrote scripts. Finally, he produced the 90-minute 35mm feature film which won many festivals awards.
In the next part of his life, he spent all his time teaching the process of filming to many students.

This course's graduates have grossed over US $6 billion at the box office with 9 Academy Award nominations and 87 official entries at the Sundance, Cannes, Toronto, and Raindance film festivals.
