[edit] WikiProject Musicals
Hi! I'm leaving you this message because your name is listed as a participant in WikiProject Musicals (previously WikiProject Broadway) or I feel you may be interested in the project. It seems that the project has laid dormant for quite awhile, but I would like to work toward getting it up and operative. I have a few ideas that I've outlined on the talk page, and would love your input. Working together, I think we can signifigantly improve the quality of the articles relating to musicals on Wikipedia. — MusicMaker 06:02, 28 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Bayside, Queens
You have a very low threshhold of rocking, but I greatly appreciate the kind comment. You did the real work on the article. I'm just the janitor who goes through and cleans up to make everything look nice. Thanks for putting in the time and effort! Alansohn 01:42, 21 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] RENT
On behalf of the RENThead community, I would like to thank you for you substantial contributions to the article RENT. Someday, I would like to see it featured... Anyway, for your efforts, I give you this Barnstar of High Culture! You earned it!

[edit] Musicals Project
Hello, D. I'm a New Yorker, too. Although I'm a little too crazed to put up new articles for musicals for the next couple of weeks, I'd be happy to act as a second pair of copy editing eyes for any you create/expand. Best regards, --Ssilvers 00:00, 9 August 2006 (UTC)
- D...I like that. But anyways, thanks for the offer, sounds lovely! I really appreciate your added eyes/help/expertise etc. :) I'll keep my article editing list on my userpage current. And likewise, if there's any article you are working on that you'd like me to look at, please let me know! Happy editing --Drenched 03:17, 9 August 2006 (UTC)
- Hi, D. I added some stuff to Marin Mazzie's article. Still needs more. --Ssilvers 03:11, 10 August 2006 (UTC)
- Hey, your changes look awesome! It's really starting to look like an article rather than a random list of facts. =P But yes...a lot more can be said of Marin Mazzie! --Drenched 04:47, 10 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] License tagging for Image:Mamma mia.JPG
Thanks for uploading Image:Mamma mia.JPG. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 03:06, 9 August 2006 (UTC)
- Whoops, forgot to tag. Fixed now! --Drenched 03:22, 9 August 2006 (UTC)

The image was listed for speedy deletion because you indicated that only Wikipedia has permission to use this file. While it might seem reasonable to assume that such files can be freely used on Wikipedia, since explicit permission to use it was given, this is in fact not the case. Please do not upload any more files with this restriction on them, because content on Wikipedia needs to be compatible with the GNU Free Documentation License, which allows anyone to use it.
If you created this media file and want it to be kept on Wikipedia, you might want to use {{GFDL-self}} to license it under the GFDL, or {{cc-by-sa-2.5}} to license it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license, or use {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain.
If you did not create this media file but want it to be used on Wikipedia, there are two ways to proceed. First, you can use one of the this list if you believe one of those fair use rationales applies to this file. Second, you may want to contact the copyright holder and request that they make the media available under a specific free license.
I can undelete the picture if you know which license tag you'd like to use. If you have any other questions, please let me know. Shell babelfish 19:43, 5 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Help, please
A person has been attacking certain articles I have edited and started an AfD against one that I created called Joseph J. Romm. Would you please weigh in at the AfD? Thanks! --Ssilvers 19:05, 29 September 2006 (UTC)
- Of course. It looks like it's a pretty unanimous keep as it is though =) --Drenched 00:09, 1 October 2006 (UTC)
Thanks! Hope all is well with you. I added a little more to Mazzie. :-) Ssilvers 22:57, 11 October 2006 (UTC)
- No problem, hope your articles have turned out all right in the end. And thanks for the edits! You're way more diligent than I am. =) --Drenched 00:41, 12 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Apologies
Hey, sorry I haven't really had time to work on the revision of the stereotypes article. I've been really busy, and I'm actually preparing to go on a two-week trip, so I really won't be working on it for a few weeks. Hong Qi Gong (Talk - Contribs) 15:03, 10 October 2006 (UTC)
- You've been such a huge help; I really appreciate your contribution. I'll try to work on the revision in the meantime, but I'll also be pretty busy too rounding the corner into midterms season. I hope you have a pleasant trip! --Drenched 00:43, 12 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] W. S. Gilbert FA candidate
Hey, D!: The W. S. Gilbert article has received a lot of work in the past month (and we responded to two peer reviews), and it has been nominated as a Featured Article. If you can get to it, please review it and then weigh in on the nomination at Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/W. S. Gilbert, or else let us know if you have any further comments or suggestions about the article. Regards, -- Ssilvers 02:05, 27 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Propaganda jap1.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:Propaganda jap1.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. [edit] Stereotypes in the American media
Hi,
I have commented on the AfD for Stereotypes of Arabs and Muslims that the title of the article (and its sister "Stereotypes of ..." articles) should have "in the American media", "in Western popular culture", or something similar added to the title as this is the actual focus of the articles. For instance, the Arabs and Muslims article does not, for instance, include stereotypes of Arabs among Israelis, among Africans, and so on. As you are the creator of all of the articles, I wanted to get your thoughts on the idea.
Cheers, Black Falcon 03:40, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
- Hey, you definitely have a good point. This issue was brought up here when I originally suggested the split, but there wasn't much feedback. Since the parent article was from an American perspective, the split articles definitely have an American bias, which is problematic (e.g. Stereotypes of Asians has been tagged with the "globalize" tag, and there is also a discussion about worldwide POV on its discussion page as well). I think the scope Western for the pages is better than just American, because I feel that many of the stereotypes of non-Western ethnicities are the same or similar across Europe, America, Canada & the Western world in general & it'd be silly to have separate pages for each Western nation doing the stereotyping. I agree it would be more descriptive & accurate if we included "in the Western world" or something like that to each of the titles, but it would be cumbersome as well so I'm not sure how that ought to be rectified. Non-Western stereotyping of various groups really hasn't been addressed much on Wikipedia in its own right. Non-Western POVs currently don't have a home & their categorization would be tricky, but the content also doesn't currently exist yet (except maybe in other contexts). So while it is a valid concern, I'd personally worry about it when the issue arises. What would you suggest? --Drenched 04:30, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
- I think you make a good point about "Western" being more appropriate than "American". However, there are articles that deal with individual countries (e.g., Irish settlement in Argentina). That said, such articles may well come under criticism for being too specific. The shortest title I can think of is [[Stereotypes of [Group] in Western media]] (without the "the" that would be necessary for "Western world"). It is long, but it is also informative (although then the article should include references to non-American media as well). I do agree that splitting the main Ethnic stereotypes in American media was a correct decision as the article is quite long. I will take a closer look at the other articles and will comment here if I think of something else. I suppose waiting until someone raises the issue (hopefully with suggestions) is sufficient for now--maybe some ideas will come up in the AfD. Cheers, Black Falcon 04:57, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
