Ok. Thanks for clearing that up, because I wasn't sure either way... Emily 02:03, 17 March 2006 (UTC)
Black Family Tree
"Seeing your talk page, you have a history of breaking the Wikipedia:Verifiability policy. You must realize that you have no evidence that the Potters and Weasleys are related other than a Potter married into the Black family. Are all people with your last name related to you? Do not get me wrong, I agree with you that it is strong possiblity that the Potters and Weasleys are somehow related. The fact is until you can back it up with reliable sources this section will be deleted again. If you continue breaking the Wikipedia:Verifiability policy your account can be blocked or worse you will be banned. So, either cite reliable sources or delete the Weasley - Potters section from the a Black family tree. - Given that my great-grandfather only adopted it in 1920, probably not...
As for the Tree: what you are not taking into account is that it is an artificial creation, rather than an organic developement. In real life, yes, just because two people share a surname doesn't make them related. But the Tree was created by Rowling as part of her series. How likely is it, really, that she would place someone named Potter on the Tree that was NOT related to Harry? And given the generational gap between the male Potter and Sirius (which would make sense if the Potter was James), it is certainly likely to be James Potter. And many people agree with this. So its existence certainly needs to be referred to. And the effects if such is the case. Michaelsanders 20:03, 29 September 2006 (UTC)

- Actually, it's not really my work: it's the work of quite a few editors. Michaelsanders 00:28, 30 September 2006 (UTC)
Not quite a hat-trick in 24 hours, but I suggest you also work to keep the article free of his speculation. He's not getting the message, but I can't block him as yet. I can only block him (or get him blocked) if he reverts four times in a 24 hour period. --Deathphoenix ʕ 05:17, 18 October 2006 (UTC)
No problem. As always, I'll try to lend a hand or an opinion when asked. --Deathphoenix ʕ 16:51, 23 October 2006 (UTC)
Apology Accepted
We all say silly things when our tempers get up, and it wasn't as bad as a few of my statements. Personally, I prefer to simply never mention the matter - whether I am the insulter or insulted - once my temper has cooled. Unfortunately, whilst deathphoenix fails (refuses?) to respond, leaving this issue effectively in limbo, I can't really cool off completely. I apologise in advance to any references I make to the comment. I do hope that we can work together more constructively than we have so far. Michaelsanders 21:42, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
Outside Help
Try T-Dot - though he was less than helpful when I asked him to mediate in a Weasley family dispute. Don't get Deathphoenix, it'll only make things awkward. I might try Sandpiper - though I have no idea if s/he answers requests like that. If T-Dot doesn't respond, or help, then post on the project page. Michaelsanders 12:33, 6 December 2006 (UTC)

Slug Club
No, he put the category up for deletion (see here: [1]), since it merely repeats information already in the article and adds little of merit. Or so I think: certainly, when clicking on the tag, I get that. Michaelsanders 18:10, 10 December 2006 (UTC)
Assistance
Look at Students in Harry Potter's Year, Harry Potter characters birthday list, and the project page. Take a look at the issue, and contribute. Whether you disagree or disagree, it is vital that these issues are decided by editors who are familiar with Harry Potter and who are capable of deciding upon the worth of the articles, rather than editors who clearly have deep contempt for it and no real understanding of the subject. Please intervene. Michaelsanders 22:24, 10 December 2006 (UTC)
TenTen
Oh, yeah! I was thinking about that... but, hey, you already added almost every character I was going to add (THANKS! I was SO waiting for you to do that XP You know, write big texts in english is a real pain for me).
EDIT: Oh, forget it! Saw the whole article now. You added like, every character on the series! Tomorrow I will add the japanese names and the images (and I must say I love you! Old Aya is there *_*) - Access Timeco 02:27, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
Yeah, I also don't think he fit there to much, but it seemed the best. He is not part of the "F", the F are Ishiyumi, Tsumuji, Watari, Kabuto, Kagiroi and, who-knows-where-he-is, Wani (the White Feather guys). He is also not from Juukenbu, not Enforcement. At least he WAS from "Feudal Japan" part, so he fits there better than on the other disponible areas. - Access Timeco 03:13, 17 January 2007 (UTC)
I've upgraded the character article of Tenten to B assessment. I changed the name to comply with WP policy on naming character articles and included it into the Manga and anime articles by series category. The article needs a copyedit, particularly looking for Words to avoid. For example, there are too many instances of the word "also" throughout the article. --Squilibob 05:10, 19 January 2007 (UTC)
About the images, agree with you. In fact, most of the characters I just took the images I had XP Unfortunately, I will travel today and will take a while until I come back (at least three weeks). Feel free to change any images. - Access Timeco 16:28, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
Hi! No idea about the Kengo. I remember seeing somewhere about the honorific title, but don't know. On the japanese article, it is there just like the rest of the name. About the images, still not in the city with the computer that have the manga. One more week to go. - Access Timeco 16:50, 5 February 2007 (UTC)
My opinion about what? Kengo? Don't know, maybe you're right. About the travel, not yet (I'm in the city where I study, not the city where I have Tenjho Tenge -_-) - Access Timeco 01:40, 27 February 2007 (UTC)
Re:Thanks
I just want to thank you for your contributions to the Tenjho Tenge character page. I hope that you will continue to add and refine this page. (Duane543 23:34, 15 January 2007 (UTC))
No problem. Just happy that no ones upset about my "tampering". But I'm happy to help out whenever I can. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Reige (talk • contribs).
Welcomebot Question
Hey Duane, no Wikipedia doesn't have a bot that automatically sends a welcome message to someone. Perhaps it was deliberately done so new users actually have a real live human notice them and send a message. It's an interesting idea you have. Perhaps you make a suggestion to Wikipedia:Bot requests. --Deathphoenix ʕ 22:15, 28 January 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the info. :-) --Deathphoenix ʕ 15:10, 2 February 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks from me too. Michaelsanders 15:12, 2 February 2007 (UTC)
Category problem
The categories are automatically added using the infobox as you guessed. I wouldn't worry too much about a page in the User namespace being in the category. Code could be added easily to the infobox to stop it adding categories outside of the main article namespace if this became a problem in future. (using if NAMESPACE =) --Squilibob 04:02, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
- I have edited the infobox so that it does not add categories to pages in the user namespace anymore. --Squilibob 01:36, 18 February 2007 (UTC)
Shonan Junai Gumi
I assume you're more familiar with the work than I am, so I have a question: are the names under 'Shinigami' Natsu correct? Looking through the Japanese wiki page, I see two names connected to his character: 水樹・スミス・夏希, Natsu, and 水樹・スミス・フユカ, his sister; however, these seem to indicate that the family name should be Mizuki-Smith (or Smith-Mizuki), and that the sister's name is Fuyuka, instead of the family name being Fuyuka-Smith.
As for the rest of the names, there's no kana on ja:湘南純愛組!, which would make the process much easier, but I'm working on it. —TangentCube /c /t 03:30, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
- in re translations: usually, the Japanese page will have a kana pronounciation guide, so it's a simple matter of searching for the kana; in this case, there were no guides, so I took the list of names and ran each one through WWWJDIC's enamdict database. I had to make a couple best-guess judgement calls for some of the names, as there were no exact matches (Saegusa and Akimitsu come to mind). Other than that, I'm not doing any translation; I imagine that would help match up the descriptions for the names I didn't match up before, but what I've heard about machine translation is... unflattering, at best, so I haven't tried it. —TangentCube /c /t 00:06, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
Article assessment
Feel free to assess articles as you see fit. The assessments are guides for editors and give the WikiProject a general idea of what needs priority and where the project stands. I think the difference between Start and B is pretty obvious if you read the criteria. In my interpretation, a B-class article should have sections on their role in the plot, personal information, a picture, a reference and should be encyclopedic.
Ulquiorra is a good example of a B article, it has all of the above where Sting Oakley is a Start article because it is missing references, personal information is sparse and it is badly written. --Squilibob 01:36, 18 February 2007 (UTC)
note on wikilinking
When making a link, using a pipe to point to a version with underscores (e.g. [[Boys_Be...|Boys Be...]]) is unnecessary, as the software will convert spaces automatically; compare Boys_Be... and Boys Be... —TangentCube /c /t 23:13, 23 February 2007 (UTC)
Claymore
Thanks for spellchecking the Claymore (manga) article. But, as a tip in the future, there's no need to systematically change English spellings for words to American spellings, like organisation to organization and realise to realize. I'm not sure what the standard is according to the Manual of Style, but neither is more "right" than the other per se. Leebo86 03:34, 26 February 2007 (UTC)
- Yeah, the article is a bit crufty. I happened upon it when updating for shows that are premiering this spring in Japan. I'll probably take a closer look at the article in depth when I begin to add more info about the TV show. So, for now, I'm an "outsider" to the article just like you. I won't touch it for now. Leebo86 04:12, 26 February 2007 (UTC)
Macrons
Usually, kana combinations that end in _o+u (e.g. こう ko+u, きょう kyo+u) and the combination o+o (おお) get a macron ō, and combinations that end in _u+u (e.g. くう ku+u, りゅう ryu+u) get a ū). There are exceptions, of course; some of the more notable ones I can think of are Shihouin Yoruichi, from Bleach (I forget why, but I'm sure it's in a talk archive somewhere); Mesousa, from Pani Poni Dash! (it's a combination of meso and usagi); and the manga-ka Yuu Watase (the name Yuu is two kanji, read yu and u).
With names written in katakana, however, all long sounds indicated with a chōon (ー) get macrons; there's a number of examples at List of Eureka Seven episodes, as all the episode titles, with the exception of ep. 50, are written in katakana.
This is how I interpret WP:MOS-JA, anyway. —TangentCube /c /t 06:02, 27 February 2007 (UTC)
tenjou tenge question
i think its both actually. quick skim through chapters...in 191 they call him ichiyou, but in 192 he calls himself "head of the nagi family kengo". ichiyou could be a nickname, it could be the name he prefers (like souichiro doesn't want to be called kengo), or there is the fact they were pretending he was a girl so it maybe an invented name. since they are ALL called kengo i guess its not very identifying, they probably use the other name to distinguish which nagi head they are talking about...other wise its y'ou're left wonder which generation someone's talking about. i know that's vauge as hell but its all i got lol. --Grimjaw 22:28, 27 February 2007 (UTC)
- yeah i agree with that i don't think Kengo is actually a name people call them in conversation etc. as for the kagesada thing i created a page for him but i couldn't remember which was his family name etc. i put it on the talk page. if i'm wrong (and i probably am) i'll just change it on the other pages...i don't remember how to fix it in the article heading tho...do you know how? --Grimjaw 21:12, 28 February 2007 (UTC)
- nevermind i remembered so i fixed it --Grimjaw 21:24, 28 February 2007 (UTC)
btw i noticed there was actually a plot summary page for tenjou tenge the other day and tried to fix it up etc. i just made up arc names to split it into section and make things easier to find. if you want to change an arc name feel free...but when it came to all the stuff in ancient japan i had no idea what was going on (i know nothing about japanese history). the whole thing was about two volumes long and i gave it like 3 sentences lol. Since u asked about ichiyo, did you actually understand that stuff? if you did,(and have the necissary free time) could you try and add some stuff there? --Grimjaw 02:13, 1 March 2007 (UTC)
btw i just found a page of the manga were he clearly states his name is nagi ichiyo kengo.
That whole eye thing went totally over my head actually, it took me awhile to figure out he was switching bodies through the eye thing lol. i'm the souhaku of the past looks like the one now and all...i thought he had some age reversing abilities with the death control power (he kept inue and tesuhito alive and young so long). so i thought he just made himself younger when he was with makiko, but the whole thing with souichiro's eye messes that up and such. i'm wondering why the hell hasn't aya said something about it? u'd think souichiro being possesed might be worth bringing up lol.
but since souhaku was in control of the body u can't really give credit to the other guy as the father i suppose. he hasn't gained control over souichiro yet (he may just be letting him maintain control for now) so who knows how it works. the old souhaku may look like him now because he like re-write the dna to his own or something (maybe as a different species the dog is immune?) thus he really would have half souhaku's dna...anyways just an idea. point is they can't really give random possessed (and likely now dead) guy the dad title lol. --Grimjaw 04:12, 1 March 2007 (UTC)
- oh ok, that simplifies it a lot. i'm actually gonna re-read those two volumes and see if i can make some sense of it this time through. I wonder tho, souchiro's name is kengo also. I know noone is gonna think to type it in a search, but maybe we should at least make a mention of it in the article. what do u think? --Grimjaw 07:12, 1 March 2007 (UTC)
btw bro i made an article for aya, thats a real long article potentially and i'm lazy. so if u want to look at it and see if u think its ok or if shit should be added let me know, or do it urself which ever. --Grimjaw 05:31, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
i added sohaku, but anyway i actually understand stuff in feudal japan now. once u understand all the stuff with tokuan shojo its alot easier to follow. but it leads me to my own question... when he fought yoshitaku (or whatever the swordsman name was), after he beat him with his own move it seemed (maybe i'm missing something) like he reshaped that dudes face to match ono jirou's (or whatever the dude he killed in the redlight distrcts name was). so is tokuan's power not only the manipulation of his own body/powers into others, but also the ability to change the body/powers of others? --Grimjaw 19:42, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
yeah i was just trying to group people half-assedly. i couldn't think of a better way to class ieyasu and some of thos others so whatever u feel is appropriate is fine with me. i don't know actually about sohaku's body jumping. he may have never taken over an old person before, or it may actually be his first switch...i was just throwing out the possibility, i don't wanna close a door when i just now, barely understand wtf happened in that arc lol. with tokuan i get that he shape shifts and such, but after he stole that dudes technique by mirroring his ki...i swear he reshaped the face of the guy he beat. he returned to his real form it seemed, but gave the yagyuu the other guys face somehow...its chapter 94 page 19 see if u get what i'm talking about, i totally didn't get that part. i just created Tetsuhito too, i gotta go add link and shit now tho. --Grimjaw 02:37, 7 March 2007 (UTC)
Death Note
I'm I right to think that List of Death Note manga should be renamed List of Death Note media. I also don't think that page needs this Death Note tag. I want to make sure I'm right before doing anything because Death Note is a popular manga. (User:Duane543 04:44, 28 February 2007 (UTC))
- Animanga articles called List of <name> media are generally a group of different media such as soundtracks, episodes and tankōbon all in one article. I suggest just clarifying the name to List of Death Note manga volumes or List of Death Note manga tankōbon or List of Death Note manga chapters. Unless you merge all the media into one article, I'd stray away from calling it List of Death Note media. As for the category I think you're right, the question is what is the right category to put it in? There is a similar article in List of Cowboy Bebop manga, in name, and in the wrong categories. --Squilibob 05:00, 28 February 2007 (UTC)
tenjho tenge character articles
i'm gonna write an article for tessen ishiyumi, and after that Jushi Mataza Tsumuji. before i get to him tho, is mataza like a family honorific or something? everyone in the family has that as a middle name so i'm just wondering, i don't know how all that shit works, just seeing if u might.
i also edit bleach and a group of guys just kind of set up a general outline of how things are going to be done regarding that series, who deserves article and such (they even delete articles people make if they have dubbed them unworthy). like if this was bleach my tetsuhito article would have been deleted since hes dead (which = unimportant to the guys that call the shots). so since u and me are about it for tenjho tenge editors, i kinda want to get on the same page so to speak.
what other characters do u think deserve articles, i mean there are A LOT of characters, and quite a few we don't know enough about to warrant an article. since ur the only other person who does tenjho tenge editing, who do u think i should write articles for? there are some like dogen takayanagi, where he's a supporting character but he shows up quite a bit, and has a pretty important role and such. i'll write the articles as i get time, but i'm not all that sure of who deserves one. like i like that mouki kid so i'm inclined to do an article for him, yet he's a minor character, and pretty well written out of the story already. obviously i'm not gonna write an article for everyone, it would take forever and not everyone has enough info...so who makes the cut? any others u think really deserve their own article? --Grimjaw 22:47, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
Yeah i did Emi off the top of my head, its a pretty piss poor article so it needs work. I did tessen and shinichiro today. i did shinichiro just so at least the juuken part of the template is actually all working. it took me WAAAAY longer than i expected so i may not get to mataza till after spring break. but at i've done a ton of crap this week tenjho tenge wise so it can wait lol. i usually keep the manga on cd, but i put it back on my harddrive so i have quick access to it. hence why tessen and shinichiro are laced with citations and such. hopefully having the reference will step up my article quality. i'll add like a supporting characters section to the template whenever i make dogen and makiko i guess...unless u can think of a better heading for them. --Grimjaw 06:59, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
dogen was in there too? i totally don't remember that, do u know what chapter it was...i don't have my normal computer or cd's since it's spring break so i can't just search through the manga like normal. i'll have to download the chapter, and i don't want to have to dl like 10 chapters to find it, so i can see if there is any indication as to why he is there. if it wasn't the new guy who added it but you, i'd of just left it; i don't trust random dude number five over my memory lol. i can't tell if the kabane kid is a boy or girl either...i'm not familiar with japanese names but hirohiko sounds like a boys name so i assume its a he, not anything i'd wanna add to an article just due to uncertainty tho. btw mataza is the next in line for an article, i'll write it offline when i have time over spring break and such, but still i don't expect it will be done till next week, besides, like i said i don't have the manga here. do u happen to know the range of chapters from the attack on the enmi estate to makiko stopping souichiro? at least then i can dl them here and actually have citations in the article. i'll probably do katsumi next since his will likely be short, from there its a toss up. --Grimjaw 04:03, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
- actually no i didn't know that, i've never found a site with the manga aside from stoptazmo. i appreciate the chapter numbers btw. no i don't recall hirohiko being called he or she or anything off the top of my head, but like i said i don't have the manga with me to check. i hate androgenous characters in anime. --Grimjaw 04:56, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
rar
i'm not some kind of expert or anything, but i deal with em pretty frequently. download winrar, its almost exactly like winzip and will also open .zip files...unlike winzip they rig it so only it can open .rar files cuz they are bastards. i've also seen some setups where the file is split in to parts u download all the parts then winrar puts it together as one file. u can get winrar here if u need it. http://www.download.com/WinRAR/3000-2250_4-10614813.html?tag=lst-0-2 --Grimjaw 05:02, 11 March 2007 (UTC)
Dorea Black, Charlus Potter, etc...
This is some issues with the Dorea Black section of the Black family tree (Harry Potter) article. Back on March 5, 2007, I left this message on Michaelsanders talk page. I waited for a response and did not get one. So on March 9, 2007 I removed it. As with always it has become an issue. Since it is Michael some personal attacks could happen if some editors that he respects don't get involved. My opinion is that the section is mostly theory, which is against the WP:NOR policy itself. However the theory based of of the dates that may be inaccurate (see the archive discussion ) (Duane543 05:11, 11 March 2007 (UTC))
- Just Posted on the Black Family Tree talk page. Hope it helps:
I think we can legitimately make a short statement reflecting exactly what we "know" for a fact - and that is this: according to the "canonical" version of the family tree, that one Dorea Black, daughter of Cygnus Black and Violetta Bulstrode, married one Charlus Potter, and they had an unnamed son together, who was apparently in the same generation (or perhaps once removed) as the generation of Harry's father James and his classmates. Yet the relationship between Charlus Potter and James Potter remains uncertain. The HP Lexicon (a fairly reliable source that Rowling has acknowledged), states:
- "Charlus Potter: Rowling's Black Family Tree mentions a Charlus Potter who was married to Dorea Black (1920-1977), a grandchild of Phineas Nigellus Black (BFT). They had one son (unnamed) (BFT). It is doubtful that Charlus is Harry's grandfather because Jo has told us that "James's parents were elderly, were getting on a little when he was born, which explains the only child, very pampered, had-him-late-in-life-so-he's-an-extra-treasure, as often happens, I think. They were old in wizarding terms, and they died." (TLC) Dorea was only 57 when she died." [2] --T-dot (Talk | contribs) 15:04, 11 March 2007 (UTC)
hey
ok, i guess i was a bit hotheaded, and got too excited, lol anyways, the music page is done except for the translations, which i dont feel like getting into today, ill probably do that tomorrow. i've already put a request on the music page to stop it from getting deleted. anyways, should i just let them delete the other pages, or should i improve them, and get them appealed? anyways, ill probably upload a few more screenies tonight and ill call it a day! btw, new naruto shippuden episode is out, just so you know, incase you like naruto.
i think we're going to need more ppl... (Leefan 23:52, 15 March 2007 (UTC))
Funbari no Uta
Well the category should reflect what the article is, not what it is related to. So perhaps Category:Short stories or one of its subcats? --Squilibob 00:11, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
whew, now im definitely retiring for the night
well, i did more than i expected, and i completely finished the music/ost page, now it only needs more accurate translations, since the ones i made were off dictionary.com, and im not too sure how accurate it is. and also, do i have to cite dictionary.com? anyways, i think i'll tackle the anime episodes list tomorrow, and hopefully create a detailed char page for yamato and suzuka over the weekend. ja na! (Leefan 01:57, 16 March 2007 (UTC))
thx
thanks, but if theres one thing about me, its my overselfconfidence, so im not going to get discouraged that easily! ill take your advice, and do one article at a time. btw, did you look at the music page i finished? i dont think it requires anymore. on the topic of other anime sites, the main reason i started editing suzuka was because of its lack of information, since wikipedia is the main source i use for anime background and spoilers. infact, i've been modeling alot of the new things after other anime wikisites, such as the navigation bar, and the music page. im going to upload more pics today, and maybe get the anime episode list done. Leefan 18:29, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
format
hey man i just altered the format of the tenjho tenge character articles. for a lot of these people understanding their power is key to understanding shit that happens and such so i moved that section up by character outline. I renamed "powers" to "techniques and abilities" to match souichiro's article, i added a synopsis heading with the manga or anime as subheading and arc if necissary. check it out and tell me if u like that setup...if not we can just revert it. --Grimjaw 04:30, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
- i moved that stuff up because it seems like in some cases such as sohaku, souichiro, noriko powers and such are explained twice. once in the synopsis and once in the powers sections. to smooth it out and make it so i don't have to write the same shit twice, or others read it twice i just moved it up. Mitsuomi does seem to have more mastery of the forged iron needle attack than others, he can use both arms simultaneoulsy where as the others have never done that. souichiro can do one arm then the other but not at the same time. whether or not his version is different, ie shin had a bastardized variation of it, or if maya and such use the real thing isn't really clear. btw i'm cranking out articles of the people who haven't done very much this week, they are easier and i can do more faster. i'll do dogen fu chien and makiko after i finish all the names currently on the template. all but madoka should be pretty fast tho. --Grimjaw 18:42, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
about when F was founded, i actually just wrote it that way to shorten up the explanation of what exactly F is in each character article. i'm not sure what exactly noriko was wanting with 24 people, all she said was "delivered". but mitsuomi talks about non-registered students and such, and i thought the point was for souichiro to steal red feather powers, unless there are 24 people with powers in todou we haven't seen yet or something. it could be a lot of things since u mentioned it, i'll try to fix that to make it more ambiguous. as for noriko's powers i totally don't remember anyone talking about it, and i wasn't sure where they came from. if i reread the whole manga for every character article i've written to catch such things, this would never get done lol. this is exactly why i rely on you to catch the stuff i miss. if you haven't changed it already i'll go do that now. let me know if i fucked something up on my other recent additions. --Grimjaw 22:43, 20 March 2007 (UTC)
- btw i noticed someone edited the plot summary, saying all this shit about Kagesada getting owned and such. i can't find 103 anywhere so i took it out as it is most likely made up shit, considering the stuff said at the end of 102. i was totally wrong about the stuff with dogen in the limo tho so i was wondering if u had seen it some where to confirm that. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Grimjaw (talk • contribs) 00:22, 21 March 2007 (UTC).
dude i totally forgot about half those techniques i did list tell i flipped through the manga to look for some. the aya and the returning teh scabbard and such for example. if someone would have added that i'd of taken it out as fake lol. --Grimjaw 23:34, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
